Try something new with your dog!
I work with other people and their dogs five days a week and love what I do. I include my dogs in some of this work and they love joining in with the groups and 1:1 training sessions.
But…. I have a wish list of things I want to do with just me and my dogs. Things to do in our free time, new experiences, new adventures.
One of those things in my wish list was paddle boarding with my dogs and I’m so delighted to have had our first attempt at this in April. I had lots of encouragement and support from my daughter Sam and her partner and also from my husband. With the men in kayaks as backup Sam and me on paddle boards we had a brilliant hour of fun on the water. The dogs had life vests on (just as we humans did) and with a dog on each paddle board we carefully introduced Bo and Evie to this new ‘sport’. Both dogs had a dip in the water when Evie tried to walk on water and Bo decided she would swim over to my board from Sam’s.
Bo and Evie really enjoyed the experience so it’s definitely going to be a repeated activity.
The peace and tranquility of paddle boarding is wonderful! I haven’t yet been brave enough to stand up on my board, but that’s my next goal and to do it with at least one of my dogs with me.
One experience ticked off on my list and more to follow.
Love life, live life to the full and wherever possible, let your dog join in the fun!
