Peta 4 Dogs

I will always want to learn more about dogs and their interaction with humans. It’s a fascinating subject and getting the relationship right for both dog and owner is what it’s all about for me. At Dog AID & Peta 4 Dogs we help the clients to train their own pet dogs, to assist them in day to day tasks, in and outside the home. It’s a very rewarding and fun-filled role and I just love my weekly sessions with these clients and their dogs.

My aim is to make sure everyone is comfortable and gaining the most from their learning experience with me. Excellent customer service is key – it goes hand in hand (or paw in paw!), with my role of dog trainer.

I never stop learning about dogs and attend seminars and practical training events to keep up to date. I also share my experiences with other people through the delivery of workshops.

About the training

As the owner of two dogs, both crossbreeds and both very different characters I know how challenging some dogs can be to train! Between us, my family own eighteen dogs a wide range of dog breeds and cross-breeds, including rescue and rehome dogs. They range in character from busy, full on dogs to golden oldies. The way we train these dogs has a huge impact on our relationship with them. Adapting with your dogs as they become older is also a key factor in maintaining that lovely bond with them. Enrichment activities play a big part in our dogs’ lives!!

As a qualified trainer and a member of the APDT, UK and also a trainer with Dog A.I.D. I work to help people train their dogs and puppies using positive, kind and fair training techniques. Through Peta 4 Dogs I teach owners to ‘think dog’, to watch and learn about their dog’s body language and…….to have fun with their dog!

So, if you want a little bit of help (or a lot), to learn the best ways to train and communicate with your dog or puppy, please get in touch with Peta at the Positive, Effective Training Academy 4 Dogs.

Dog AID UK

My role with Dog AID UK is very much about training dogs and their owners and it also involves being very creative, as most of my clients are wheelchair users with limited mobility. At Dog AID we help the clients to train their own pet dogs, to assist them in day to day tasks, in and outside the home. It’s a very rewarding and fun-filled role and I just love my weekly sessions with these clients and their dogs. Visit the Dog A.I.D website for more information.

"Peta is a brilliant and knowledgeable dog trainer. My daughter is training her dog through Dog AID to become her assistance dog. As my daughter has many physical limitations, Peta has put in a lot of thought coming up with ideas that can work for her individual needs and to help build a stronger bond with her dog. Peta is very kind and caring and also puts a lot of fun into training sessions for dog and owner alike. We would recommend Peta with no hesitation."

Customer

My name is Carol, and I have been in a wheelchair since 2019, in 2020 I rescued Bailey from an unsuitable home.

We started our journey with Dog A.I.D. (Assistance In Disability), a few months later with Peta, one of their volunteer trainers, when she came to see if we were a good fit. We started training for our level 1 which we passed with flying colours within a year. During our level 2 training, Bailey began to have difficulty with her back leg, which ended with her needing to have surgery. This left us having to hold off with our training for about a year while she recovered, Peta was always there ready for our return.

We passed our level 2 about 8 months after Bailey was given the go ahead from the vet; our level 3 was passed in October 2024, all thanks to Peta who was there for us every step of the way. We are now taking on the world with our new freedom

A big thank you to Dog A.I.D. for being there to help people like me who just need that little canine helper, to keep their independence.
